... this video is from a friend of mine, Debi Jordan. She wants to be famous, so she wouldn't mind me dropping her name. smiley1

Debi lives north of us, and her flooding is the result of all the water from Tallahassee shedding off into her area. The water is supposed to get sucked up by the karst, and dumped into the Wakulla River. But, because of all the rain we had before Fay, the karst was already full ... so the water is just standing. I wonder how many sink holes we'll get from this?

Welp, my son called me at 5am this morning. He's flooded too. He doesn't live too far from Debi.

What a mess.  Did it get in your son's home?

I haven't talked to him since he called this morning, and his phone is out. He said the water was waist deep, and was up to the bottom of the house. He rents, so he's not worried about the residence ... and he was already starting to get his belongings up off the floor when he called.

This video is from my boss's boat (it's moored at the St. Marks Yacht Club) taken Saturday, during the height of the storm. I couldn't believe that they actually rode out the storm on their boat! (well, it's actually a yacht)

Looks like the tops of the boats are about to hit the underside of the boat shed.

I agree, that doesn't make much sense to leave your boat moored to a structure during a storm. Apparently they were with the boat so that if the weather got worse, they could take it up river. Their boat is so big, they don't have anything that will pull it out of the water. It has 2 staterooms, so it is classified as a small yacht. It floats, so to me ... it's still a boat. And during a tropical storm/hurricane, last place I want to be riding it out, is on a boat! I was glad that ours was small enough to park in the yard.

Chris had to evacuate. Their landlord is a deputy, and he has other properties ... so, he is really coming thru for them and getting them into another rental. God bless him!
